Buying and Sending Bitcoin on Coinbase
To buy Bitcoin on Coinbase, you first need to sign up for an account and verify your identity by providing a valid ID and proof of address. Once your account is verified, you can connect a payment method such as a bank account, debit card, or initiate a wire transfer. After setting up your payment method, navigate to the “Buy & Sell” section on Coinbase.com or tap the “+” Buy button on the Home tab in the Coinbase mobile app to purchase Bitcoin.
To send Bitcoin from your Coinbase account, follow these steps:
- Open the Menu in the top navigation and select “Send.”
- Choose the asset you want to send, which in this case is Bitcoin.
- Select the network you will use to send your Bitcoin.
- Enter the recipient’s wallet address and the amount of Bitcoin you want to send.
- Preview the transaction details and select “Send now.”
- If prompted, enter the security code sent to one of your trusted devices to complete the transaction.
It’s important to ensure that you’re sending Bitcoin to a Bitcoin address and not an address for another cryptocurrency to avoid losing your funds.
